laptop?
Tue, 04/29/2008 - 17:37
I am planning a 3 week vacation to Germany, France and Austria. I am wondering if it is worth it to pack along my small laptop for email, researching travel plans and such. I will be staying in cheaper hotels that advertise wireless or direct internet connections in the rooms.
Are there enough web-cafes that I wouldn’t need to pack the laptop. Do the connections even work for Canadian laptop models?
This has been discussed numerous times. Try the search function

im bringing my laptop with me. but my trip is going to be 2+ years long though.
Look at your power supply to your laptop. If it says input= 100~240v AND 50~60htz then your fine anywhere on the planet. You just need t pick up an adapter that will convert the socket to Europes plug. Its a $9 converter you can pick up at any local travel store (samsonite in the mall) or in airports. The UK and Ireland use different plugs then Europe.
Thanks,
I hope to keep it to one suitcase or a large backpack. I won’t be hosteling, just looking for cheaper hotels. I figured my 14” laptop might be worth bringing for watching dvd’s on train trips and the plane. Internet to research daytrips and train schedules, plus let the family know I am OK is a bonus.
I’ll check the power supply out.
