I’m going to be living in germany at the time of oktoberfest – but i’m all the way in cologne and i’m not sure with my new job which days I can take off to go to munich – I noticed most cheap hotels/hostels are booked already in Munich – I was wondering if there is a smaller town nearby that may have rooms available and still have that festival feel – I’ll probably take a train in during the day to munich and need a town that I can get back to drunk at night! I just dont want to go too far alone too late at night, if the trains are even still running? I guess the worst case scenario would be to take an early train from cologne and maybe a night train home if I cannot find a room – but that sounds kinda awful! Thanks for any ideas!
