Leaving soon--Need advice regarding ferry in Croatia
Sun, 07/15/2012 - 21:47
Hello Everyone,
I am in need for some last-minute advice (leaving in three days) regarding the ferry schedule in Croatia. We want to take a ferry from Split to Hvar in the morning on Thursday, 7/26 and leave Hvar for Korcula on the following Sunday morning (7/29). Then we would like to leave Korcula on a ferry for Dubrovnik in the morning on 8/1, which is a Wednesday.
There are multiple ferry, catamaran, hydrofoil options and I’m having a very difficult time figuring out the schedules. Not everyone leaves every day and some only leave late in the day.
I hope that the ferry schedules and my hotel reservations are not in conflict. I haven’t made reservations yet for “transition” days because we might have to leave late the night before if there are no early options. However, I do need to reserve for those days ASAP as accomodations really fill up fast, especially on the islands. Could anyone help with this? Thanks so much!
I’ve found this website helpful…. http://www.find-croa…
This is the biggest ferry company and the one that operates almost all the ferries with-in Croatia: http://www.jadrolini…
I recommend booking soon for ferries in late July and August. However, If you don’t have an advance purchase ticket for the ferry you want to take, you might be able to get on it anyway. There are lots of travel agencies in offices and kiosks all over Split where you can sometimes buy a ticket shortly before the 2 hour recommended advance check-in for ferries. You can sometimes buy a last minute ticket at the ferry terminal if the ferry isn’t full or there are no-shows.
Hi Tsuki,
I know this is a bit delayed but I am a frequest ferry traveller and happened to travel throughout Croatia by ferry last year. I booked through aferry and didn’t have any problems, the price was good,I travelled on the routes Rijeka – Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik – Korcula. Finding accurate and full listings of time tables can be tricky anorl so I would also have a look at the website advised from oldlady – its very good.
Whilst you are there dont forget to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park – you wont regret it. Its amazing!
