I’m moving to the UK with some friends soon. We’ll be living, working and backpacking for about six months. The UK’s got this HMO license law that says you can only have as many people living in a flat as there are rooms. This means we can’t share rooms to knock down our rental costs. We were thinking about only having a couple of us on the lease the the other two living there without the landlord’s knowledge (squatting, to put it bluntly). Has anyone ever tried this? Any advice on what to do?
