Any recommendations on a good hostel in London? Somewhere central where it’s easy to get around and meet people but not completely crazy?

Also what’s the go re: sleeping bags in hostels. I’ve been told that you can’t take them because they can spread bed bugs – which makes sense – but then other people have told me they have taken one with them.

i did a topdeck tour and i brought a sleeping bag. Not every hostel comes with sheets, and trust me, you do not want to sleep on some of those matresses.
as for london, i stayed at the generator and it was clean and the bar was alright and cheap. Just make sure you’re room isn’t above the bar. mine was. i had to meet my tour at 6:30 am. it was karaoke night.
That said, OMG! THEY HAD A KARAOKE NIGHT!!!
it was pretty cheap too Smile

Instead of a sleeping bag, which takes up a TON of space in your bag, I would just take a sleep sheet instead. You can buy them online at amazon or travel/outdoor store websites. (They are something like this: http://www.crowdstor…)
Or make one yourself by folding a queen sized sheet in half and sewing up the bottom and 2/3 of the open side. Some of the ones you buy have a pillow case built in.
