Looking different in passport
Thu, 12/27/2007 - 18:51
I’m a US citizen. Right now I look lots different (longer hair) than my passport photo. Has anyone been stopped/questioned for looking different than their passport photo? Where? I don’t have any exotic locales on the radar screen, and I’m sure that if anyplace gives me trouble, it will be my own govt., but I’m wondering if this is a concern. Thanks.
I wouldn’t worry. I look very different from the photo in my passport and never had any problems. Can you maybe post a side by side photo comparison?

I think the officials are trained to look for particular facial structures, so your hairstyle should not be a problem. I recall reading on FlyerTalk about someone who had even changed his/her gender, and still continued using the old passport, although she had to occasionally point out the bone structure issue.
If you got stopped at passport control for a different hairstyle, then we’d all be in trouble.

Keep your hair jerry curled, your colla’ popped & your linebeard sharp and it’ll be easy cuzzin
My boyfriend had dark, short hair and a lot of facial hair when we travelled. In his passport he has long, blond hair and no facial hair. He’s never had a problem. It made the scariest passport guys laugh. And he’s been everywhere with this passport. You’ll be fine.
