Memory for digi camers, where to burn cd's in EU
Fri, 10/01/2004 - 12:33
I only have a 256 for my small sony digi camera with Video option. I was hoping to burn CD’s as i went so that i could clear up room. Are their places like Wal-mart and Henrys and such that allow u to burn to a cd for reasonable rates through EU. I would think so, but otherwise ill invest in more memory.

1 hour photo places are plentiful and some offer "digital service" and will burn a CD. I also found an internet cafe in Rome that would burn one. However, there isn’t necessarily going to be one "right there" (particularly if you’re not in a major tourist city) when you fill up your card, it usually takes 10 minutes to an hour to get a CD burned and cards sometimes get corrupted. So, I’d made sure I had at least 2 cards.
Normally, if you go to photo shops they do it, even in the not-so-touristed cities… of course, the price ranges are variable, but are normally between 3 and 5 euros.
I took two 256 MB cards with me (was fairly camera happy) for France/Portugal. I found that photo shops were too expensive for me (often over 10 euros), but I could generally find a computer gaming/internet place where I could burn CDs for around 2 to 7 euros. I brought a card reader as well, which made it easier. Usually I would keep my eyes open for a good place and burn my photos even if I wasn’t quite finished my cards – just in case!
Places to burn the CD are common and you can budget an average of 5-6 euro per one, I think. Just calculate, how many pics you can put on your card with the resolution you want, approximately how many pics you take per day and you’ll see how much you need and how often you’ll go to upload the pics to CD.
