I was thinking about taking a weekend trip to Memphis to see Graceland, etc. Has anyone stayed in the Lowenstein-Long Castle Hostel (listed in LG)? Can anyone recommend some good budget hotels, preferably close to downtown (or wherever the action is!)

Also, is a car a necessity?
