How much doeas a typical backpacker spend on a one month trip through Europe, What would you say the average is. Not including arir lines and railpass

my son is budgeting for 200 aussie dollars a day spending money only after all accommodation and major travel tickets..thats a 120 euros a day!…for a month he is taking 6000 aussie dollars..seems a lot, hey? i really thought hed need half of that for the 30 odd days but he wants to go cashed up and not have to worry
i would think u could survive on 60 euros a day ..78 us ..but again…it depends if ur a big drinker ..if u want to get into nightclubs…if u buy lots of snacks..if ur impulsive…if u want to get into palaces and museums…if u get lost and have to get a cab quickly to make a train or flight..
i have heard of people running out of money and its not fun …and i have heard of others bringing back surplus funds…
it depends on what u find stressful..i HATE being short of cash ..depresses me entirely ..so im well cashed up and then i try to be frugal some days so i can splurge on other days
i write down everything i spend
but i dont at any time know what i have spent….i just get a feel for it and try not to obsess with every euro..as long as i think im ok ill relax and have fun!
goodluck..im sure u wont regret a single cent of what u have spent!
