Hi,

I got fares from NSB (train), RailEurope (train), Nor-Way (Bus), JVB (bus), Cominor (bus), etc. and there are a lot of variation depending on destinations. According to you, which way to move from Oslo to different cities in the country would globally be the cheapest?

It depends. NSB often has advance purchase one-way fares for 199 NOK including long-distance routes such as Oslo to Trondheim, Bergen, or Stavanger.

If you can find buses for less, then maybe it’s better, but the trains are probably faster, and definitely more comfortable.

I would not choose bus for all of Norway, however, as the train line scenery on Bergen-Oslo, for example, is stunning; also on Stavanger-Kristiansand. Bergen-Stavanger has no trains; fast ferry is the best choice to connect them.

If you need to get up into the mountains to smaller towns, then busses. If you need to stick the coasts and major cities, then train. If you need to go to the far north cities, then flights: Wideroe.no and Norwegian.no for example.
