Need help getting to Cairo this summer!

Ok an opportunity to go to Cairo has suddenly come upon me. I live in Orlando, FL. The problem is that it is the week of July 17th – July 23, in less than a month. I understand that it is peak summer and prices are outrageous! I really don’t have that much money but would only need to pay for the plane ticket. I have searched every travel search engine and have have no problem connecting in another city in Europe (i.e. London, Amsterdam, etc.) I’ve looked at courier travel (which I’m not sure is for me or even possible) and charter flights (which I don’t know much about). Does anyone have any advice for me or could help me find a cheaper flight. I would like to spend no more than $1200-1500 for the entire flight trip. Thanks!

I’m seeing decent fares to CAI from MAD and CGN ($400s). The problem then of course is just getting from MCO to MAD or CGN I do see Ft. Myers to Dusseldorf in the low 900s near your dates on Air Berlin. The savings might not be worth the potential costs of a mis-connection, however. Have you tried consolidators?

What kind of consolidators do you recommend? I may have some help getting a flight to London. Do you know of any budget airlines from England to Cairo?

Check our new user threat at top of this forum for consolidator and airfare aggregator search sites. Also check those on LON-CAI, as well as BookingBuddy.co.uk, Momondo, Cfares, and Kelkoo.co.uk.

Normally, Whichbudget and Skyscanner would be good for low cost routes, but I don’t see anything good for LON airports to Cairo. This will give you an idea of lowest cost options from Europe to Cairo in July: http://www.skyscanne…

Do you have any flexibility on your travel dates? If not for your dates in Cairo, how about a day or two somewhere between Orlando & Cairo?
