You’ll be fine.

My kid took a similar trip right after high school; his buddies bailed out on him but he did fine solo, and yes, you’ll meet people and probably find traveling buddies for different legs of your journey.

Of course you’re gonna party, but just try to keep your wits about you; stay out of fights, etc.
If you’re totally wasted and passed out some place, you as well as your moneybelt can be awfully vulnerable to unscrupulous types—no matter what your size and strength.

Have a great trip.

I Think Scandinavia is the most save place in europe, even the "big" city’s are save, exspecially Finland, where you can walk around in clubs with your bare feet!!
I’ve been for one month in Norway, Sweden and Finland. The people who live there are very polite, nice, etc.. They will help you in every way they can.
I think the perfect country’s to travel alone…

If you are staying in hostels, you will meet plenty of people that speak English. And plenty of people travelling alone. Do it!

Lost, don’t worry. I went by myself, and I am smaller than youSmile In reality, you will only be alone when you chose to be. Meaning, by yourself you will find it very easy to meet others to go out with at night or during the day. In fact, I found it very hard sometimes to just go out by myself for the afternoon. You will meet alot of other people travelling by themselves, who will ask you to join them for the day, or the night, or whatever. And don’t be afraid to ask others if you can join them. And don’t forget to return the favour, if you manage to get a few people together for the night out, and you see someone hanging out by themselves, ask them if they want to come with you. There were many times that I met people at the hostel I was staying at, who were going to the same place as I was next, and we would take the train together. Alot of times you will even meet people on the train. I know how you feel, I was nervous before I went about travelling by myself, but after doing it I would never want to travel any other way again. Hope this helps!

You have nothing to worry about, when I made my first trip I was alone and 18 straight out of high school. I’ve made several trips both alone and with friends but its when I was alone that I usually ended up going out in larger groups. Most hostels are at least 50% solo travelers anyway, and if it has a bar its no trouble at all finding people to go out with. If you want to hit the clubs or drink to the sun comes up, you’ll find people to do that. Or if you want to sit at a quiet restaurant and pass around a bottle of wine, you’ll find people who are looking to do the same as well. Being a solo traveler actually liberates you and gives you many more options, much more than it limits you.

Also you may find yourself making good friend(s) at your hostel and traveling on with them to other cities. This can lead to some great memories from your trip, but also some really tough goodbyes.

Camping is a great idea.

Sweden has some law (freedom of access or something) that allows people to camp almost anywhere. Something to consider though is how much camping you’re actually thinking you will do. If it is just something you’re going to do every now and again, don’t bother bringing a tent and supplies. It is a lot of extra stuff to carry.

Most camp grounds will rent tents nightly, and the cost is minimal. So if you’re going to drag a tent around, consider how much you would be willing to pay in total not to carry one. Then look up some camp grounds on the Internet and see how much they charge.

Going alone is fun, adventurous, and you will learn a lot about yourself and what you are capable of doing alone. You’ll also have complete control of what you’re going to do next. When you are with even just one other person this can become the biggest argument. Even if you make friends, you don’t have to feel obligated to do what they are doing, you can always just so, "No, I’m doing this," or, “I’m going here." Who cares, you’ll have only known them for probably a few days at the most anyway. Part ways in good faith, maintain your friendships, but go and do what you want. You’ve came by yourself after all Smile

Cheers

Hey New Stupid Guy:
Make sure you watch out for bedbugs. If you get stricken with them, just use some of your piss and you will see them disappear in a few days. Now, sure this sounds gross, but you will not have to endure going to a doctor and using those messy creams for the bites.
Just splash some of your piss on you before you go to bed. It really works. I heard this is a old remedy that they have used in Europe for years. Just ask someone about this once you get to Europe. Have fun.

Hey, C’mon. I was just kidding "LOST" some travel advice worthy to being mentioned. You will probably get those pesky critters and you’ll remember what I said once you start itching and scratching. You don’t have to tell anyone that you used the piss but it does work. Europeans have been using it for years and some of them continue to use piss for cologne/perfume.

Well, if I were you, I’d save that 30 bucks and use it for food. the euro is up against the dollar. And don’t get soo upset. Sure, the piss on the bedbugs sounds bad, but, really its not. And if you are a regular bather, then, you shouldn’t be offended by it. But if you’re into getting pissed on, I will piss on you for free and let you keep your thirty dollars so you can go to a museum or some other tourist trap. How about it, LOST!
