My boyfriend and I will spend two weeks in Ireland this September — loose itinerary goes something like Dublin, Kilkenny, Dingle, Galway & surroundings (Aran Islands, etc.). We’ve both backpacked in Europe (even solo) before, but I’m wondering about these hop-on, hop-off bus tours. It sounds like they could save us time on transportation. Has anyone taken one (including Tir na nOg?) Are they cheesy, or do they still preserve the independent feel of backpacking?
