Northern India, late December/early January
Tue, 08/30/2005 - 21:41
Hey all,
I heard/read the weather is pretty nice during this time of the year. Has anyone been there at this time? WHat type of clothing should I expect to need?
Also, anyone have any information, advice, etc they want to share regarding this region?
Thanks and happy travels!
The weather is great at this time. You do need warm clothing though. It gets chilly in the desert of Rajasthan and the Himalayas. As far as Northern India goes, here are my recommendations:
1) Ladakh
2) Dharmshala
3) Delhi
4) Agra (this is where the Taj Mahal is at)
5) Jaipur
6) Jaisalmer
Let me know how much time you have for this trip and I can suggest more places but do NOT miss these at any cost. Hope this helps.
Take care,
Pranav
Not sure what your time frame is but Varanasi (an overnight train ride from Delhi) is like no other place on earth. The Ganges should be low at this time of year making the ghats great for exploring and people watching. What a cultural experience…very memorable. ~Amy
Hey everyone
Thank you so much for your helpful information. Ugh, unfortunatley my opportunity to go on this trip fell through as of this morning .
But, when I do go, I will be sure to check out the places mentioned.
Thanks again and happy travels
