My fiancee and I are a bit confused about this. I read in the Lonely Planet guidebook about a train/bus/ferry ride that lets you see the fjords. I also have heard of Norway in a Nutshell which to tell you the truth I have no idea what it is. I have also heard from others about just a ferry ride and from others that is just a train ride. I went to the Bergen website and they use to have links about the fjord trips but the link is not working. So it leaves me very confused. How do you get back to Oslo once you are in Bergen do you do the same trip the next day. Is this really expensive? We definitly want to see the fjords. What would you recommend as being the best option? We have 4 days in Norway not counting transportation to and from there. What would be the wisest way to spend our time there. Last, we will be there in the last week of September or first week of October. Will it be too cold then? We don’t mind the cold but we don’t know if they don’t do the trips a certain time of year. Sorry so long. We look forward to your suggestion.
