NYC to Gothenburg Sweden, Late June
Sat, 02/16/2013 - 16:46
Hi everyone,
I could use some advice on flying into Gothenburg during the early summer. I am planning a trip to Germany first, and will be there for a week, before I meet a handful of friends in Gothenburg during the last week of June.
My friends will be flying out from NYC, but the summer travel rates are making it so that many of them can not go. I’ve been to Gothenburg before, and it cost me around $800 round trip. But that was in April, and i seems as if the cheapest flights I can find for them in June are over $1000. Many of them are students, and cost is a huge issue for them. It would pretty much be knocking off 2 full days of their trip.
Does anybody have any advice?
When are they planning on flying back to NYC?
The idea is for them to spend 4 nights in Gothenburg- the goal is to try to keep the trip down to about $1500/person. So, If they meet me there on the 23rd, they’d leave on the 27th to come back to NYC.
So you want NYC>Germany mid-June? Then German>GOT late June? Then GOT>NYC… when? Is that right?
Where in Germany? What are your preferred travel dates for each flight leg? How flexible are you on each flight leg? For example, 1 day before/after, 3 days before/after, or a 1 week before/after? To FRA or DUS? Or to STR or MUC? Or… pretty open because you’ll do train if another German airport is significantly cheaper?
Are you a student, under 26, or have .edu email?
Don, Yes you’re right about all that, BUT for the most part I have my personal itinerary covered.
My main concern is getting the other people to Gothenburg from NYC during the week of June 23rd. They are flexible but only by a few days- some have booked flights from the 20-28th, which I think will be too long of a trip time for some of the remaining people.
