Hi all , new user if there is a section to say sorry hello i missed it.

in desperate advice for ocktoberfest 2011, ive been meaning to go with a group of 5ish people for about 3 years. last year left it very late and could only get quotes for accomidation from £400 pp + for 4 days. not sure if ill drive or get flights over yet. i need advice on where to stay & how much from any one that has been there done that and will consider camping, any advise welcome. Regards

I would highly recommend staying during the week. It’s easier to book a room, and less crowded. Also, try this hotel:

www.spg.com (Sheraton @ Brauneck)..

Gorgeous hotel with a beautiful view, but it’s a 1-hour train ride outside Munchen. Sit’s in the mountains, and it’s only 100 EUR per night.

Cheapest is camping or get a place in “the tent” , where you can sleep on the floor or in one of the bunk beds. Also, there is a lot of private accomodation available for around 150 euros a night for 4 persons.

I will be there from sept 21-24 and happy to have a beer with whoever is around!
