Outside the Fest
Fri, 06/22/2007 - 09:28
This will be my first Oktoberfest and my first time in Germany. I fly into Munich on opening day and leave on Friday morning. I’m looking forward to the Fest, but I’m also interested in touring Munich. There’s a lot of info about what goes on in the tents, but what will the rest of Munich be like? I want to go to some beer gardens and many of the tourist sights. Will the beer gardens be too empty or crowded to enjoy? Will the restaurants and tourist sights be packed?

Munchen is very busy during the fest, but not too crowded to enjoy the city’s many other sites. I would highly recommend the Augustiner Keller on Arnulf str., the Hofbrauhaus, Seahaus, and Chinischer Turm.
