Hi radzio, I’m going to try to do a month-long immersion course in Egyptian colloquial Arabic through the American University in Cairo after I submit my dissertation (in about six weeks if all goes well). To get housing through the program costs $270 for the month ($9/day) – if I book accommodation myself is it realistic to expect to get something closer to $5-7/day? I’ll be a female travelling alone if that makes any difference. I don’t mind a fairly grotty environment as long as I’m safe and don’t get bugs.
