Yes Paris is romantic, I once went for a wedding aniversary, and it wasn’t mine, it was the guy I was with wedding anniversary, very romantic. but yes, Paris does come across as being the city of love, I have been several times there, and each time I loved it, by the 3rd visit, I wasn’t a tourist and could just take my time

I just wanted to say i completely agree. I love Paris! Spent 2 weeks there and by the time i had seen all the “major” sights, i really felt like i could just sit back and relax and absorb the beautiful sights and culture of this truly romantic city. I think that people who only pass through for 2 days and stay in a cheap area such as Pigalle (Moulin Rouge district), really do not get the full experience that the city can offer and are very quick to write it off as another “big smelly european city”…Its not! And if you at least TRY to speak a few words of fernch to the locals, they will quickly see you are a foreigner making an effort and they will treat you charmingly. Not all french are rude and arrogant, perhaps they are just proud of their gorgeous city!

Everything said about Paris is true, but I think this is spam for Asiarooms.com . Ironically, I think that agency often has good deals, but I wish that it wasn’t spamming.

A mate of mine had this great idea to propose to his gf in Paris a few months back… got down on his knees, pulled out the ring when they heard a distinct hissing sound… they both turn their heads to see not 2 feet away a drunken frenchman pissing on her feet.  Not only that, his schlonger was about 6” greater than his, probably the worst proposal in history.

So what happened with the proposal?

Sure? Sounds like that will last. 

I have never understood why people think Paris is a romantic spot, I’ve had the misfortune of going to the craphole twice and think it’s utter rubbish, if you want a romantic city go to Stockholm, Venice, Vienna or somewhere coastal, Paris is a stinking hole of a place that lives beside the fettid water of that large urinal the stinky frogs love to piss in.

I agree Paris is not romantic.  It’s a huge, bustling city.  And yes, it definitely has its share of social problems, and no-go areas just like any city its size.  But it is a fantastic, and very attractive/aesthetic city. The architectural/aesthetic balance between old and new has been achieved to a high degree (although there are imperfections), The nightlife is very good, and public transport is superb.  I wouldn’t recommend Paris for a honeymoon…but it’s a great city to live in.

For a “romantic” spot in France whatever “romantic” may be I suggest renting a car and driving through the Bourgogne, Rhône-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and Languedoc-Roussillon regions with your significant other, and exploring some of the small “undiscovered” towns, as well as some of the hot spots (like Eze or Roquebrune).
