Paris vs Berlin night-life

Hey everyone,

I’m heading on a Europe trip with 2 friends over June/July and we have an option of spending a long-weekend in either Paris or Berlin, then a 1/2 week in the other city.

Where would you choose for clubbing/night-life?

It’s not an ESSENTIAL part of the trip as we are going to Sensation White in Amsterdam and then on to Ibiza for a week, but we would prefer to utilize the weekends we have available as much as possible (we’re young, dumb and … well you know the rest).

All input will be appreciated, especially if you’ve been there before!

I think you would like Berlin’s nightlife better. There is a more carefree tone with a lot of crazy, unique and interesting clubs and event spaces. If you know anything about New York City, Berlin’s nightlife is a lot like Brooklyn – hip, laid back and generally (minus some hipsters) unpretentious. On the other hand, Paris is very trendy and significantly more expensive. The French attitude seeps into the their nightlife the same way it does into most aspects of the city – hard to get to know, chic and shy at times. Plus, it will almost certainly be more expensive.

I would prefer Berlin as well, for the same reasons as above. But as you are going to Ibiza afterwards, wouldn’t it be better to visit Barcelona before? Great nightlife and equal weather.

Great! Thanks for the advice Mim; I’ll put this to my mates and see what they say – But it looks like (as you say) Berlin will be the better option for us!

I would love to spend some time in Barcelona but the guys I’m travelling with really want to visit Berlin and Paris; so I’m letting them have that as I got them to go to Amsterdam for 4 days with me!

It definitely looks like Berlin is the place to go though!

I think Paris nightlife is better than Berlin. I have heard from many people.

BERLIN BERLIN BERLIN!!!!! Berlin’s nightlife is POPPIN while I feel Paris is posh and pricey. Berlin is younger and sexier (and ‘poor’ Wink ) So open and fun. I promise you!
