I’m looking on advice for hostels in the following cities:

Stockholm
Dublin
Munich
Interlaken
Athens

About our group: We are traveling in a group of four as recent college graduates who will definitely be staying out late. We are looking for hostels that have reputations for being party friendly in good areas and tend to have younger people staying at them. It’s kinda hard to find places online that advertise themselves as this but any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am leaving from Los Angeles with $3000 for 27 days
Dublin, Stockholm, Berlin, Munich, Interlaken, Rome, Athens, Mýkonos, Íos, Santorini, London, Dublin

Dublin – Barnacles Temple Bar House
I don’t remember the hostel itself being a huge party place but you can’t beat the location since it’s right in the heart of Temple Bar. People would just get together at the hostel and go pub crawling all night long. It was one of those “don’t stay there if you plan to have a good night of sleep” kinda place!

I am leaving from Montreal with $4500 for 44 days
Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Český Krumlov, Bratislava, Budapest, Kraków, Lviv, Chişinău, Tiraspol, Odessa, Kiev

ABSOLUTELY!!! This is one of my FAVORITE hostels. Still at 31, I would party there. Next door is WOmbats (which was new in like 2005ish) which is pretty cool as well, very modern and clean. EYH is so fun and the bar closes when you close it. SOOO many memories there.

I stayed at Jaegers which is right between Wombats and the Euro Youth Hostel. I had a great time and the prices were cheaper than the others (if I remember correctly). I went and partied at Wombats now and then if my hostels bar was dead.

I am leaving from Montreal, Canada with $1600 for 16 days
Frankfurt, Munich, Venice, Florence, Nice, Barcelona, Paris

I stayed at both Balmer’s and the Funny Farm in Interlaken, and both are great partying type hostels. Balmer’s had better accomodations and was a cleaner, but was more expensive. Funny Farm is cheaper and more of a mad house. On their website they mention “barn style” dorms, and they aren’t kidding!

Between all of the extreme sports, bonfires at night, and partying, you can’t go wrong with either. I would (and am Smile) going to go back to Balmer’s on my trip next year. The sale of and toleration of certain Amsterdam type drugs in Switzerland certainly add to the partying atmosphere…

Thank you for the help. Does anyone have any insight on Rome?
