I think I’ve finally decided that Peru will be September’s destination
I’m not sure how long we’ll have—I can go for about 4 weeks, but bf can probably only go for 2 1/2-3 weeks.
I’ll stick to the south—Lima, Cuzco and Macchu Picchu (really want to do the 4 day Inca Trail!) Puno and Lake Titicaca (still laugh at the name
) I’m also considering of Pisco (for a daytrip to Islas Ballestas aka "
oor man’s Galapagos"
possibly Nasca (are the lines really worth the trip?) and Arequipa.
We’re willing to spring for a flight or two since were short on time, but I can’t decide where. Would also like to take the train at sme point.
I’m still trying to lay out an itinerary—I’m not sure where to go after Lima—should we head to Cuzco, then down to Puno and work up the coast back to Lima? Or head down the coast, head to Cuzco, then Puno and Arequipa.
It sounds like we’ll need to spend a fair amount of time in Cuzco to acclimatise and hopefully avoid altitude sickness, but I’m not sure how much time to alot to the other stops—any suggestions?
Any hostels to recommend? To avoid?
Would love to hear from others who have been there.
Muchos Gracias Senors and Senoritas! (Spanish class starts in July!)
