From Phoenix to London for cheap! plz need help!
Mon, 11/05/2007 - 01:47
Hey everyone,
I’m a senior in high school, and my friends and I are looking to do a Euro-Trip this summer. We’re planning on leaving June 1st and staying there until around July 1st, but the departure and arrival dates are flexible. I would like to find a round-trip flight from Phoenix, AZ to London. Everyone here seems to really know how to find cheap flights, and well, I don’t []. So if someone could find me a cheap flight, preferably under $1,000, and tell me the website, that would be amazing. I’m happy to be part of this forum, and help or suggestions for other possible flight strategies will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have to do roundtrip to London, or are other cities OK?
I’d start with Don’s suggestions in the sticky thread.
Start here. Keep in mind that, due to airfare seasons, departing just a day or 2 before June 1 might be significantly cheaper.
Also, sign up at ba.com for sale alerts. British fly nonstop from Phoenix to London, and they often have good specials for Spring and sometimes early into June. A typical offer, if I recall, might be $900 round trip from PHX, but with 3 nights hotel for free, plus a London Pass, or something like that.
When you do some research with the sites and sources in the new user thread, be sure to check consolidators and student sites. And if you were planning to visit another place, anyway, then search airfare to there from PHX, too, since London is not always cheapest—especially with the increased air passenger duty started in UK in January 2007.
Best I see right now is $892 using USair and then Air India via New York (29th\27th CheapOair.com). Next-cheapest is $903 connecting to Virgin Atlantic via Chicago (28th\25th Orbitz.com). I tried lots of cities for you, even including Tucson in the search, to everywhere in Europe (Zurich comes in next-cheapest from USAir, by the way).
Personally, if I was flexible with dates and destinations, I’d wait a little longer and know that BA will likely have a decent offer if a better sale doesn’t come along. I’d be well pleased to find anything under $750 for this trip; $900 or less is reality right now, but a sale could come along. Sign up for alerts on this route at Fare Compare
Wow, that was really fast. Thanks a lot for the flights. As for having to fly into London, I’m pretty flexible with that. To be completely honest, I’m really just looking for the cheapest possible flight to Western Europe. I’m not sure how cheap that is, but as long as I’m in a plane going to Europe, thats fine with me. I’d probably be content with being shoved in a suitcase, haha. So, I guess London isn’t really necessary, so if there are cheaper flights to basically anywhere in Europe I’ll take it.
STA Travel is $828.60.
