PHX-NYC-MUC in June/July

Hello,
We wanted to do a Trip to Europe this summer and i have a couple of questions:
We will start from PHX and have to be in New York for June 18-21 (the weekend) then leave from there, we thought MUC as it is close to my parents do then a trip Vienna/Rome/Paris and back flying out from MUC to Phoenix (we would leave New York on the 18th of June and stay in Europe for a bit more than 3 weeks so maybe July 14?)
I found one flight NEW York MUC for $876 and another one PHX-New YOrk for $410 which totals $1286
So i guess my first question is whether this would be a good deal to book or to look into other options and if so what other options 
?
This seems to be very complicated so any help or suggestions would be appreciated

I think you’re best to do this as 2 separate tickets—just like you’ve already checked. The 876 on NYC-MUC from June 21 (you meant 21st, right?) til July 14 is very good. The PHX-NYC for $410 seems high to me. Where did you find these prices (so we do not repeat efforts)?
I searched quite a bit, I used http://www.cheapflig… and there i can click I forgot if i clicked on all as but I am pretty sure on: Orbitz,Student Universe,Cheap Tickets, VAYAma (orsomething). I think i also did Priceline and Hotwire.
The 876 (Phx-MUC)I found on Trip Advisor and I think also on Vayama
the 410 i found on Orbitz The flight is arriving at Newark and flys back over JFK
So would you guys book the 876 or wait for a cheaper flight? My parents from Europe got a really good deal from their travel agency (760 Euro for Muc-PHX-EWR-MUC and 3 nights in a nice hotel in NY!)but they say they can onlly to this if you departure from Germany…

And I am sorry I forgot –
One flight will be departure june 18 from PHX to New York
The other one will be departure on June 15 Phx to New York
We will then meet there and fly together for the rest ( i have to do some finals first!)

I see the JFK-MUC flights from consolidator CheapOair.com for $856 total on Air Berlin. This is a really good price, and I don’t think you should wait on it to go lower; I think that would likely squander away a very good fare because of the real risk of seats at that price selling out.
The PHX-JFK portions I see at least $50 cheaper with Jetblue (nonstop), but I think you can do better on this if you sign up for fare alerts with Bing and Farecompare — possibly as low as $250. Since you’ve got some time (about 4 months ‘til travel) I’d probably wait and see on this one—and be ready to book as soon as something better than $350 (Jetblue current price) pops up.
When i go on cheap Air i only get 895?
I used the 21st June-14July. If one of those dates is on a weekend, that probably explains the slight bump in price.
Well I did too? 21st is a MOnday and 14th is a wednesday?
I found it with Cfares which aggregates many sites, and links through to CheapOair for this price. I clicked through and it shows $856.53 total.
