Pittsburgh to Vienna 5/10-5/11 back 5/25
Fri, 02/25/2011 - 12:02
I need a flight RT from Pittsburgh to Vienna , Austria departing 5/10 or 5/11 and returning 5/25 or 5/26 and no more than $500 total taxes and fees included. I’m flexible on cities close to Vienna per Prague, Munich or Zurich if it helps with the price. I can also work with cities close to Pittsburgh. But Pittsburgh to Vienna would be my best situation. You can also extend my return dates if it helps with a cheaper price. Can anyone help? Thanks, Daryl

Daryl, I hate to say it, but you need to start making other plans. I do not realistically think you have a chance to get this ticket $500 or less. Sorry.
Yeah, just checking fares from PIT to about 20 different European cities for your dates I don’t see anything under$700.
Hmm… just out of curiosity, can I ask where/what the fares were that were even close to 700? I am trying to fly someone over here from OH from mid May to mid June, and can’t find anything under $1000 out of Cleveland, but Pittsburgh isn’t that far out of the way…
EDIT: “Here” is Salzburg, Austria, though I’ve been using Munich as the airport of choice…
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens
I saw one in the 700s also when I checked this 5-6 days ago. They were to London, IIRC.
Ah okay, thanks Don. I’ve been scouring the internets for something affordable from “near” CLE to something “near” SZG for a while now, but with no results.

ITA found CLE-MIL mid-May to mid-June $851 total with American. Also $705 to DUB, back from MAN. Or $776 CLE-MAD.
Thanks for looking. Dublin is a little out of the way, but Milan isn’t too far out of the way I suppose

It might be cheaper to get to Austria from Dublin than from Milan

Haha yeah, good point… quicker too
I would just be worried because the person in question has never travelled outside the US before and doesn’t really “know the ropes” as far as travel goes… and I’d hate to have someone arrive jetlagged in a foreign land, only to have to hop right onto another flight… and god forbid there was a delay or something which threw the whole thing out of whack… I will consider it though… thanks again Don
