plain and simple...cheap booze!!!
Tue, 03/15/2005 - 22:20
a lot of people want to know what places are good to go drinking and partying. since a true backpacker is going to be on a very limited budget and will not go looking for a particular place in a foreign country, i’ll keep it simple, where can you get very cheap drinks (one euro or less) in western europe.
thank you

As far as I know, nowhere. Where can I do that in America?
If you’re willing to drink the shittiest beer imaginable, you might get a bottle for that price at the grocery stores. But then, if you’re a Bud Light drinker, you’re already used to that quality of "beer."
Las Vegas has many casino’s with $1 USD beer at their bars. Yeah it’s not the best, but you can’t beat the price.
Would this theory apply to Europe?
Hey, original posting guy – go to Monte Carlo!
At the bar I work in. We have $1 12 oz. domestic draft(Bud, Coors Light, Miller light and Yuengling) specials pretty much every day. We also have $1 shot specials on Friday nights. Well, you didn’t say they had to be GOOD drinks.
Lots of great cheep beer in Czech Republic! Yuuuummm. Otherwise hit the happy hours (they can be found all over)
you see? you can easily get cheap drinks in the U.S. in my town bottle beers cost 25 cents during happy hour…thanks for the tips but keep’em coming. thanks
eastern europe period. but in western europe just go to the market and get yourself a 6 pack for around 3 euro.
Do you have a couch too?
Will reciprocate!
A couch?!? Any good drunk knows the world is his couch!
I frequent a little bar called smoke on rue delambre, off of boulevard Montparnasse in Paris. Its not one dollar cheap, but its the cheapest place ive found here. Good people too, but mostly a quiet older crowd. Plays some good jazz and blues compared to the techno most places blast here.
In my hood there is a bar a couple blocks from the beach that has premium booze (kettle one, etc.) for $3 and under. They make ‘em strong, ta boot.
There is also a place right off the beach that has a daily $9 beer pitcher special. Good beer, not Sewers or Bud…
That is cheap! Our prices are some of the cheapest around, but can’t compare to that. Is that all the time or just when they are running specials(happy hour, etc.)?
I love hearing everyone’s tips, however it would be more helpful if you could tell us where these places are. Thanks!
