Hey all,

I’m a first timer and I’m looking for some guidance from experienced backpackers about going to Europe. My plan is to go early next summer of 2005, so I have a little under a year to plan. I’m wondering what steps I should be going through at this point to get everything in order. I understand my itinerary is totally up to where I want to go, but I’m looking for some ideas of places I HAVE to see during that time period (i.e. any festivals, special events, etc.). My main goal is to get in touch with different police agencies, as I am a Criminal Justice major; other than that I want to have a fun time. The major concerns I have with right now is getting things planned, and trying to get an idea of how much I need to save up for to travel for 2-3 weeks. Also, I’m looking to get in touch with other travelers who plan on going around that same time. As of yet I have no one to join me on this adventure, so I’m open to chat with anyone whom I could meet up with.
