Please don't throw things at me. . . .

For asking these simple and maybe obvious questions:
What are the specific dates of Oktoberfest?
Is it only in Munich?
Do you have to reserve hotels/hostels way in advance or can you book when you get there?
Thanks!
This year, it is from September 22nd to October 7th.
It is only in Munich.
I would not count on ‘winging it’ on arrival for a place to stay. I would suggest figuring out if /when you want to go and booking soon. A lot of places are already fully booked for the first couple of days of the fest.
They do also celebrate Oktoberfest in my former home city of Stuttgart. However, it is approximately 1/6th in size – compared to the original fest im Munchen.
