From Prague to Berlin
Sat, 09/17/2011 - 08:33
What’s the cheapest way to get from Prague to Berlin? I’ve tried the DB-Bahn, but it forces me to choose the “delivery” option =/
I just tried Bahn.de for next Wednesday and I see it bookable for 34 Euros. It’s an EC train 4 hours, 43 minutes direct—no changes. Also try the Czech Rail site http://www.cd.cz/def… It might be even cheaper if you take a Czech train to the border, then onward to Berlin booked separately.
It is bookable, but it forces me to have it be delievered, see:
I’ll check the other website, thanks! =)
I tried again, and the English version of Bahn.de says, “Printing your ticket. With DB Online-Ticket, you can print out your ticket quickly and conveniently until shortly before departure on your own PC.” Do you mean you want to reserve the ticket at the special price, but not actually buy it? (I don’t think you can).
Also, looks like some only 29 Euros with further advance purchase.
Ahh… I see. It does indeed say “Print out your tickets online. Not available for this connection.” Do’h! I guess you see what Czech Rail can do for you.
There’s also a bus for approx. 25 euros, but there are only 3 connections per day and it takes an hour-and-half longer than taking the train.
Try studentagency.cz and orangeways.hu, the two carriers that serve this route. Their tickets are available online and usually up to a few hours before the departure.
If you have any questions about Prague or Czech and Slovak republics, ask me.
If you only want to search train or bus connection within Czech&Slovakia and/or to neighboring countries, use www.cp.sk or www.idos.cz search engines. For domestic transport, they also show prices.
