I am in Oslo at the end of June and I have seen pictures of the sights on the Rauma Railway.
How feisable is it to do this trip from Oslo in a day?
Thanks
Daz

I’ve never heard of it, and I lived in Norway 4 years. Maybe a newer product from NSB. According to timetables, it’s at least 4 hours each way. That’s a lot of train in one day.

I did not find anything about it in any of my European rail guides. From the NSB website, it looks doable as an all-day-on-the-train trip. However, I can’t see another way back, so you’d spend roughly 10 hours on the train with the same scenery both ways.

Might be fun as an overnight trip, but even if it’s scenic, it’s still a lot of time on the train.
