Roll-on Duffle bag or Carry-on Suitcase?
Tue, 06/20/2006 - 00:38
Hey everyone,
I am going to Europe for 3 weeks. I was wondering what your opinion was on carry-on luggage. I will be taking a jansport Backpack. Would you guys recommend a suitcase or duffle bag?

both my guy and i took roll ons
it woulda been terrible in cesky krumlov lol and parts of croatia but we had a guy who took our luggage to the apartment for us and we had a car too
my son is leaving in a couple of weeks
hell be doing an independent trip thru portugal and spain with a couple of mates and then onto amsterdam but then joining contiki
im kinda talking him into the roller dufflebag i took cos at least u can rest it when ur in a train queue/ airport..and it will be so hot with a back pack in july
trouble was my duffle bag wouldnt stand unsupported so it had to lie prone..i also had a small backpack crammed withmy toiletries etc as a carry on
my guy had a roller bag from kathmandu ..an outdoor shop here in oz and his behaved well ..it had more structure than my dufflebag style
if ur on the move all the time i say go backpack but if u have longer times where u are based somewhere go the roller ..jsut check the wheels and make sure it has that emergency handle…guys usually pack lighter than girls and can lift these things up the stairs quite well
Are you taking 2 bags?
Thanks Sparks. Sailor – Yeah, I will be taking 2 bags, a backpack for day trips and a roll-on duffle/suit case for the clothes.
