I would like to get from Rome to Athens on either Aug 1 sometime in the afternoon or Aug 2 in the morning. I’m not quite sure what will be the cheapest way. I’ve been looking at flights and they all seem to be around 200 euros. Would taking a ferry be cheaper? Or just stick with flying?

Thanks for anyone who can help!

I am leaving from Paris with $2500 for 17 days

Looks like Aegean is cheaper than Easyjet those dates. I see it for $174 departing around 11:10 a.m. the 2nd. EuropebyAir has it for $159+ tax… which looks like the same $174 total that Expedia, Orbitz, Aegean, etc. have it.

Flying would be my 1st choice and Don has found reasonable, if not really cheap, prices.

Train-ferry-train will shoot the better part of two days (3/4 day to get to ferry port, overnight ferry, 1/2 day to get to Athens) which really does not work with your itinerary. Here’s one of hundreds of travel agencies that deal in ferry tickets: http://www.ferries.g…
If you have a railpass that covers both Italy and Greece you might be eligible for a 30% discount on the ferry.

I actually just found it cheaper for you on an Expedia.it special fare on Aegean — 102 EUR one-way total with taxes on Aug. 2.
