I will be in Rome for a few days in May and really want to see a stage of the Giro d’Italia (for those of you not familiar, think Tour de France cycling race, but Italy). I was hoping I could get to see some of Stage 12 from Città Sant’Angelo → Porto Recanati. How do I get there by train sometime in the morning from Rome?

Thanks

I am leaving from Chicago with $1450 for 14 days

Rome to Macerata looks pretty easy and it appears that the same trains go on to Porto Recanati. Macerata is about 4 hours by train with a train every couple of hours. I’d look at the 5:59 departure if you need to get there early. I use the German rail website for schedules anywhere in Europe: http://reiseauskunft… but the Italian rail website might be better for this trip: http://www.ferrovied…
