Sailing Carib
Sat, 04/08/2006 - 10:24
I’ve not mentioned our family’s voyage on this branch before so I thought I’d post here as things keep progressing. We had such a great time in Martinique with friends and travellers joining the boat during March that we have decided to just continue sailing till our savings account runs dry. Which means after heading as far south as we can in the Carib we will be turning west and hopping between the Dutch Antilles islands and the coast of Venezuela during the summer. After getting great info from fellow sailors here in the Carib we have recently decided to go onto Colombia afterward as well. (And things are looking promising for then heading up through Central America during the fall and winter, so I’d like to see if anyone is interested in heading there in the fall and winter too.) So the cruise just keeps expanding. For anyone interested in joining the boat in the Carib or in South America here is a rough idea of our itinerary;
April – St Lucia
May – St Vincent and the Grenadines
June – Grenada and begin bouncing along the Dutch Antilles and coast of Venezuela
July, August, September – Venezuela and islands
October, November – Colombia
Obviously this is just a rough estimate (especially the later months) but should give an idea on what to plan. Our main concern is that heading into hurricane season that we will be well south and out of harm’s way during the dangerous months – which is why we will be in Venezuela and Columbia at this time. Like I said before, friends are joining us all along our route but we have plenty more room for anyone interested in joining us for some sailing and adventure. Since we are picking up and dropping off friends as we go along you can stay as long or short as you like. Send me a note to my email address with a few details about yourself and I can get back to you with more specific info on our route, costs and how we can arrange to pick you up etc. bigbonjaboy@yahoo.com

Umm,,,dave, you mention it ALL THE TIME!
