Schengen Visa Questions
Wed, 05/12/2010 - 18:51
Hi,
I have a question on where to apply for the Schengen visa. Currently I reside in the UK as a student. In July I want to visit Greece, come back to the UK and then two weeks later visit Italy.
I’ll be spending 11 days in Greece and 14 days in Italy. Which country’s consulate do I apply to for the visa, Greece or Italy?
From what I understand from researching, I have to apply to the ‘main destination’, that is the country I’m spending the most amount of time in. However I’m not visiting Greece and then going to Italy from Greece, I’ll be going to Greece, coming to the UK and then visiting Italy at a later date. Is Italy my main destination, and so should I apply to the Italian consulate? Or as it is essentially two different trips do I have to apply to the Greek consulate as it is the country I will be visiting first?
Any help given is much appreciated.
Are you certain that you will need a separate visa? What’s your passport country? How long is your current UK visa valid? Check here: http://www.delta.com…
Yes, I’m certain I need visa. I’ll be going in July and August. My current UK visa expires on the 30th of November 2010 and my passport country is Sri Lanka.
