i have been planning on flying from glasgow to london on our trip. however lately i have been contemplating driving through the lake districk to manchester or birmingham and finishing the remainder on train. So my question is: what happens when i drive over the border from scotland to england? is like crossing a state border in the us or a bit more drastic?

I am traveling for 20 days
Seville, Brussels, Inverness, London
