I will be there on sunday 19th until wednesday 22nd! (leaving in evening). So 3.5 days, I think that is a record (last year 3 full days).
Great! I will see what tents we can get into. Dinner is quite difficult especially the augustiner.
I don’t really mind which tent, but prefer evening reservations. For the afternoon it is easy to get in a tent anyway, so we can check out different tents in the afternoon, and use a reservation in the evening.
Is it that hard even on mondays/ tuesdays?
I have faxed Paulaner and Augustiner so far… haven’t heard back.
HB and Hacker are fun too in the evening!
HB we can just go in the pigpen anytime. I will try Hacker.
Middle of March they will have an online form… http://www.hacker-fe… Let’s check everyday until it goes live.
I guess no chance for the evenings!
“An den Abenden und an den Wochenenden, können wir leider keinerlei
Reservierungen in Aussicht stellen. “
I will try the Hippo also: http://www.hippodrom…
@Sunskin: didn’t you know one of these tent owners??
My co-worker is bring along some of his Austrian friends.
Bring some nice austrian girls as well
BigFoot: That should suffice… Especially if you do like the real beer drinker (myself, Chris, etc.) usually do… Take advantage of the free hotel breakfast, just have a 2 EUR Brezen for lunch, then only spend money on a decent dinner each day. That will leave you about 90 EUR a day for bier, etc/…
CW: Your Boss Man coming up again???

It’s middle of march now… but no system online yet
Yeah I know I have been checking everyday when I get into work. Hippo has changed their page from the middle of March to the beginning of April. I will probably book a table of 10 and 6 together for the 21st at 4pm.
How many collegues from Austria will you bring?
Monday evening would be fine as well I guess….
Just one collegue. But he is bringing 9 friends. I will talk to him next week, they might actually do there own thing not sure yet.
Hacker’s online form just went live.
very good, so you will book it on there?
Yes we are trying to get two tables of 10 for 12:00-5:45pm on 9/20.
ok I also put tuesday 9/21 as an alternative.
They said they will get back to me in the next 6 weeks to make the reservation final.
Hacker is confirmed for 20 people on 9/20 from 12-5ish pm. I will work on happy hippo hour for 9/21 now.
that’s good news!
what about your friend the architect. Do you think he can book the BMW tour thing for us or should I go ahead and go thru the normal booking procedure?
Das Hacker-Pschorr Zelt ist Schone!

He has said he wants to go and can look into the tour thing, however his first baby is due in May and he is quite busy so I doubt he will be doing much planning for now.
Otherwise unless he comes, I would probably skip the tour since I am only there for a couple days, my hangover will be to great to walk around being interested in cars. I will ask him again in June.
Anyway, you have now this tent reservation for the tuesday as well!
BTW congratulations with your daughter, she is looking gorgeous! I suppose she’s a little too young to bring to the wiesn’
We have the one at Hacker for Monday. I put in the same request at Hippo for Monday or Tuesday but still waiting.
Vaddy guut werk Grasshoppa!

So “teilnehmer” oder “participants” we have received the bill from the Hacker Fest Tent. To secure yourself a seat at our table of 20 (10 places have already been taken by our Austrian colleagues) please send me €30 by August 10th, 2010. Send me a message and we can discuss those options. With your €30, you will receive a ticket good for 2 one liter beers, a half roasted chicken and loads of debauchery. The reservations is for Noon-5:45pm, Monday, September 20th.

I made a reservation for sunday afternoon at the Augustiner braustueben, close to the Wiesn grounds, at 17.00 PM. If you like you can join our party. After the dinner we will go to the Wiesn. Beer & food is very good there, and you pay half the price compared to the Oktoberfest tents.
See menu:

Ger-Holland and I & Co. love that place!

When do you arrive, sunskin?
I had to adjust my plans by one day.. Now arriving from JFK on Air Berlin on Deinstag (21.9.10) at approx. 10:15 a.m. WoooHooo!
MunichBeerBoy
Staying 5 days… First four at LeMeridien on Bayer strasse,, then a nite at Hotel BayerischerHof..
MunichBeerBoy
So we must meet on tuesday then. In the early afternoon I will be doing this tour at the BMW factory. Let’s meet around 4PM in one of the tents. Tell me in which one you prefer, I don’t mind.
I just called Le Meridien to leave a message for you, but they said you don’t have reservation??? Anyway I have secured a table at the Augustiner in the middle back 3rd row from the band. Call me when you arrive +43 676 8413 4327
Sorry gents; had to cancel reservat on 19.9.10… Up in Mich. for SECOND family funeral in 5 weeks… I knew this time would come, as I am 44, and I still had Grandparent’s, Great-Uncles, Aunt’s, etc… (heck, even my Great gran-dad) was alive till 2004! – have been around for 85+ years, etc. The airline let me keep miles (put them back) for a $100 fee, so I will try again next year! Shoot, I had to EAT a $521 ticket on Delta to Fargo – missed my good friend Glenn E’s wedding.. Arrgh! I WILL MAKE 2011 Weis’N – no matter what, unless I am the star attraction at the funeral! I never made it outta NYC the other day, flew to Mich., etc. I hope you be having a great time without me sirs… Wow, I have not missed 2 straight Oktoberfest’s since 1994-95 !!!
I have no more living G-Parent’s and MOST remaining family members are relatively young, in good hlth, etc.
MunichBeerBoy
Mike,
Bad luck you couldn’t make it, and my condoleances for your passed away family members!
We missed having you around but it was a great party! Next year I will try to go the same days, so it should be from sept. 18-21 2011 that I will be there! Let’s all meet again and book on time.
In previous years I always would go for the middle (Italian) weekend but sure I didn’t miss all those Italians around this time. plus the weather was great as well.
I agree it is a good couple of days to go Mon-Tues the first week. No crowds really. Still completely empty unreserved tables at noon.
@luvbeers: maybe you should send your wife & luvmilk back on the train to Vienna this year after your brief visit and stay some more days!
Are you kidding me? I want to have fun this year, so she is staying behind. I purchased only ONE First Class ticket out of JFK my friends!
MunichBeerBoy
However, we will plan a hanging-out with the wives and children in North Fla. – during the week before Christmas 2011 !
MunichBeerBoy
Sunskin: very good to come alone! We will have a blast
Yes, it’s more fun without the wives!
MunichBeerBoy
I will be in Munich from the 22-24th. i would love to join if you have space for a crazy canuck.
We will have a lunch meetup in a beerhall near the Oktoberfest grounds on thursday sept 22nd at 1PM. Afterwards we will visit the tents. If you like to join, send me a message.
Also, on saturday 24 sept afternoon 2PM, we’ll do a tour of the Erdinger brewery.
That works pretty wel for me. I am meeting some friends from North Fla. and the NYC area in the Schottenhamel Zelt. They have a reserved table at noon. MK
