Next year i’m going to be studying abroad in Scotland. After the school year was over I was hoping to explore more Europe for a couple month or so. So my question is, is it at all realistic to be mailing home all the etra “stuff” that i need for school that i won’t need on my tour of europe. Things i’m concerned about are customs, cost things of that sort…

oh and i’m not sure if this is the right forum feel free to move it…

i don’t think customs will be a problem, just a matter of filling out tedious forms.  It will probably be pretty expensive, of course costs are usually based on wieght.  Don’t know what you plan on shipping exactly, but if you’re talking about textbooks and desks or something its going to add up quick.

Probably just extra clothes and clothing accerories and a laptop. So forms and weight pretty much what i figured on.

I’ve shipped things home (i.e. clothes, souvenirs, etc) from Edinburgh through both post and private shippers through Mailboxes Etc in Inverness and it was VERY expensive. About 80 pounds for a pretty heavy box. I second shipping from a cheaper country.

We just shipped some things like clothes and records and whatnot from Germany, and it was “only” like 30ish Euros…
