Shoe advice...
Thu, 05/25/2006 - 15:45
Ok, I practically LIVE in flip flops, heels, or mocassins… I know heels aren’t appropriate to pack but what about flip flops or mocassins?

pack them!
u will see when u get there the kind of venues u go to
i had american girls with me n flipflpos thru italy ..no problem
just make sure u have a good sole and change shoes each day if u can …rotate to give ur feet a change…that really works…
Don’t make them your only shoes. Certain museums and churches will require shoes and covered knees/shoulders.
yeah..you definitely need other shoes besides flip flops haha..you’ll be walking miles and miles…in probably all kinds of terrain…I don’t even know what the hell moccasins are…when I hear that term, I think of Inuit Indians and skinning the "hide" off some hooved animal…and tying the skin to your feet for protection…but I digress…flip flops don’t take much space so sure…
Well, it kind of depends on where you’re going, and at what time of year… however, what I recommend is to take your best, most comfortable walking shoes… I’m talking like tennis shoes here. user_name is right, you’ll probably be walking for miles and flip flops are going to leave your feet… well, not pretty! Do also take a pair of flip flops, though, for use around wherever you are staying and also in showers and such.
If your problem with tennis shoes is sweating, there are lots of tennis shoes these days that are open in various places to allow ventilation. But yeah, if you want to get in some places, sandals may keep you out.
