SIM Cards in the US
Mon, 12/27/2004 - 07:11
Has anyone ever purchased a SIM to use in the US? And how much was it?
I didn’t even think I could use a SIM in the US until I found one online for 80USD this morning. I’d rather not spend 80 on a card and for only 30 mins of talk time…..

Why do you want a sim card? To use your phone on a trip home? If that’s all, then I’d buy an AT&T Gophone when you arrive. They are pretty basic, but they’re only $50 and for $39.99, you can have 400 minutes of talk time plus unlimited nights and weekends. Their service is contract free, so if you only wanted to use it for a month, it wouldn’t be a problem.
Not a bad idea! I will definitely look into that.
Was thinking about a SIM card for when I’m home so people can get ahold of me. My mom is moving and I think changing her phone number but I wont have those details until I get there, so everyone will be a bit SOL when trying to get in touch…..
Anyway, thanks for the info and nice to see ya on the board
I thought you had abandoned it for the realm of LJ.
I check in here occasionally, but I’m having lots of problems getting internet in my house, so I usually just check email and update my LJ at the internet cafe.
Fair enough. It would certainly be better for me, however, if I didn’t have an internet connection at home
Oh and we have decided to go phoneless gasp Not sure if we’ll survive, but it will be interesting to not have that piece of plastic in my pocket.
