I am 22 years old and dying to go to Europe. I have been trying to plan my trip for the past month and things just aren’t going according to plan. First I decided to do this trip alone, after bravely annoncing this to my father I began planning. My parents have been driving me crazy and putting so many doubts in my head. A friend of mine decided to go with me last week and I was so happy! I even booked our tickets and we had planned to stay 2 months. She called me this morning to say that she wouldn’t be going. So here I am back to square one, terrified and still determined to take my trip. I have read some of the posts on this page and they have made me feel somewhat better. I am still very afraid but I know that I need to make a decision. I am planning to go to Spain, Italy, Greece, and then head back through western Europe. My biggest fear is male attention that I won’t be able to deal with. I visited Italy once on a school trip in high school and found the men in Italy to be scary. I was stared at and followed everywhere I went. I have been told that I stand out in a crowd.. My blonde hair and blue eyes attracted much unwanted attention. How do I avoid this? I need to get some reassuring advice. Please help
