Hey all. I have been searching for the lowest price to Prague for a study abroad program I am doing this summer. So stoked that we arrive and fly out during peak season. So I am in San Diego, but am willing to drive to any airports within reason to get the cheapest route to Praha. So far, I have been looking at some no frills flights in and out of London or Dublin which are about $100rt. Trying to get this as cheap as possible, as my law school loans are killing me right now. The dates are late June (23-29th) depart and basically any time after August 6th. I have played the games with no frills before and would not mind doing an open jaw ticket over and playing it by ear on the way back, as I don’t really have anything to do in August until the 20th. Thanks for the help!

Where have you already checked (so we do not repeat efforts)? Have you tried student agencies? Zoom?

I have tried STA and that was really high. Zoom air to London would work out, but the departure tax is really high it seems and gets that RT to right around $1k when factoring in the commuter flight to Prague. I have looked on ITA, STA, and some other generic searches like travelocity. I am very flexible on what city I arrive in and depart from so if you have any recommendations on one way travel that would be fine. The main goal is to find a cheap fare to and from Europe…Thanks again.

I saw $804 on ITA, to DUB, for leaving out of SAN and returning to LAX.
True, it would be a bit of a pain to get back to SAN, but that seems cheaper than a roundtrip from either LAX or SAN. You could hope for better, and who knows it could happen, but these are tough dates, and your stay is >30 days.

Okay, I like the Ireland idea if you can find cheap onward flights to Prague, maybe with www.ryanair.com or www.aerlingus.com

I’ve been checking Bookingbuddy, Farecompare, and ITA, and Ireland+flight hop seems like the cheapest. But let’s consider another strategy, too….

Also check the price from NYC to PRG. If that’s relatively cheap, then the plethora of low-cost air service between SoCal and NYC might make this trip cheaper all together on 2 tickets. But I doubt it will be hugely cheaper.
