So this QQQQQ guy is a spambot, eh?

Just my intuition yelling out at me…
I am leaving from Seattle with $13000 for 367 days

heh
Don’t know about the QQQQQ user, but I have been chasing JANE all over the site.
I think a captcha thing will be going into effect soon (for new users.)
It is in effect — unfortunetly it’s not working. These be smart bots! Time to take a new approach.

I always have to wonder what the spambot ROI is. Like, do the hours they spend programming this stuff pay off when countless thousands of forum users go, “Hey! Cheap Louis Vuitton handbags?? Well hell, count me in!” and click the links? Maybe I’m missing out on a really lucrative market segment here…

I know, Regan.
Advertisers always say that they would not do this stuff if it did not succeed, but sometimes you have to wonder about their criteria for which places to torment, and how much effort they devote to it.
I think a lot of it has to do with SEO and not trying to get us to visit their site. The more links they have across the internet, the better their google rank. Although I think it might be counter productive since the google algorithm penalizes you for repeated content. Who knows.
PS: moving this thread to the Pub.
