I am heading to Europe this week. I was waiting to hear back from a friend in one of the cities that I had planned on visiting. Since I got the response on when I could go to his city so late, it’s too late for me to book train tickets in advance. I’ll have to buy them when I arrive. I looked into flights and they don’t seem to be that cheap. Can anybody tell me the best way to book tickets when I arrive? I’m doing Paris-Cologne-Utrecht-Brussels-Paris.

Thank youSmile

You can easily book them at any train station once you get to Europe, a day or two in advance should be good generally speaking. If your dates are set you could buy all your tickets at once and be done with it, and if you’re landing in Paris at CDG you could even buy them at the train station there before leaving the airport if you wanted.

All of your tickets will be easy to buy at the station — probably even from the automated kiosks (assuming they’ll take your credit card). I’d try to arrive at the station about 2 hours early if you don’t already have a ticket, but in many cases 1/2 hour is adequate.
