Hey all,

In my procrastination time, I’m planning a trip for next summer (probably May). I was wondering about the feasibility of this and to see if anyone has taken this route:

1. Begin in Spain
2. Down to Morocco
3. Head east into Algeria
4. Into Tunisia
5. Up towards Malta & Sicily
6. Fly out of Siciliy or Italy

I’d have about a month to go and there’d be two of us (one girl, one guy). Unfortunately, we’re not strong in anything but English (minimal Spanish and French).

I’m especially interested to know if any backpackers have gone to Algeria and what their impressions were. I get the feeling that Morocco and Tunisia are a bit better set up with hostels and what not, at least in some cities. Any info on travel, communication, places to stay in Algeria?

Hmm, I also just read the CIA Factbook, and they list the border between Morocco and Algeria as closed for political reasons. Anyone gone this route?
