Into Spain/Prague out of Rome
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 02:34
I am looking to do my honeymoon June 13-26 of 2010. We are getting married near Charlotte, NC and Greensboro airport. I want to fly into prague, barcelona or madrid and out of Rome. I have been researching for weeks now. I saw the deal from greensboro to madrid round trip for $600, but then we would have to back track back to madrid. That was only good on mon-thurs flights and had to be round trip.
However, we want to fly out on a sunday and come back on a saturday. If you were me, would you hold out a bit and see what deals come? If we did the $600 dollar madrid flight, we would have to wait a day and leave on monday and come back early on a thursday. I would really like an open-jaw flight going into Prague, barcelona or madrid and out of Rome, italy. Thanks for your help. I want to get the best deal possible.
I looked on air berlin’s website. It was rather hard to navigate. Thanks for your help! I have also been doing kayak alot. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
That fare to Madrid in the $600’s is a really good deal since it’s not only cheaper than other summer fares available right now, but actually cheaper than winter and spring travel to Madrid from the very same airports. That said, summer sales haven’t been rolled out yet, so this shouldn’t be your only chance at getting a fare under $1000. I imagine you’ll have more luck finding a deal out of CLT on an open jaw into/out of MAD/BCN, BCN/ROM, or MAD/ROM and then using a low-cost between Prague and your other cities.
Thanks Don…I saw the rt prices for gso-bcn on the June 13-26. The cheapest I found was $750 including taxes. It connects in munich. It was strange, the return flight connected in frankfurt…kind of back tracking. SHould I just take this deal? My thoughts are: Stay in barcelona for 2 days….take vueling flight to athens, greece for $80 euro’s. Stay there for 5 days. I really want to see mykonos and santorini if possible. Do you know how expensive it is to get to mykonos and santorini?
Take easy jet or vueling to rome for $60 euro’s and stay for 4 days. take easy jet/rynair/vueling back to barcelona and stay for a day or two…want to take a day trip to couliere in france from barcelona…so we can see the french rivierra. I might add venice in there somewhere. Is this a killer honeymoon itenerary? We know it is alot of travel and that’s fine w us.I tried to buy the flight from gso to bcn and was denied yet again by orbitz! I don’t like orbitz. This is the 2nd time this has happened. It says the flight is available for $759. I go to buy it and once I select it….it comes back and says this flight is no longer available. Why doesn’t orbitz take it off there site?? Very frustrating. So now I am back at square one…looking for a flight to barcelona from GSO. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Yep, try direct from the airline. I think ual.com has this one. Also try other sources if that doesn’t work — BookingBuddy.com has a lot (good if doing GSO-BCN r/t).
I tried ual and booking buddy…nothing. Any more ideas?
I want rt from gso to bcn on June 13th and back on june 26th.
Am I missing something. I am not having any luck. Are you able to get those deals?
Thanks for your help Don! I found the fare on kayak finally. I got 2 roundtrip tickets from GSO to barcelona on june 13th and june 26th for $757 each. Greensboro is a tiny airport! What a great fare. I am quite excited!
