This might be the only serious post you’ll see from the Herr, but anyways, in light of the recent death of golfer Payne Stewart, this recent sports tragedy hits a little closer to home.
I’m sure a few you ya’ll have heard that yesterday, 24-yr. old Canadian Indy-car driver, Greg Moore, was killed in a horrific crash at the Marlboro 500. Greg raced for Player’s/Forsythe Racing, co-owners of the race team. Player’s is the cigarette manufacturer in Canada and Forsythe is th name of the Chairman and CEO of the company for which the Herr works for. I’ve had an opportunity to meet with Greg on one of his visits to our company, and he was truly well liked by all of us here. When I came to work this morning, I couldn’t figure out why the entire atmosphere of our company was melancholoy until someone told me about the news.
Our company does not need any more tragedies right now especially because one of our well-liked project managers, who was only 47, passed away suddenly last Tuesday of a heart attack. The death of Greg Moore just added to the pain and sorrow that still remains in all of us. The month of October has truly been tragic.
