We will be in St Petersburg for two days on our next trip. We’re going on a cruise which is something I’ve never done, but it’s sounding a little difficult to get from port to city center without booking a "shore excursion" which I do not want to do (a. the ridiculous price and b. being shuffled around with a hundred other people – yuck).
Anyway, because of the new type of challenge with the language, I would like to have a guide the first day. I have heard of some that charge as little as $30 a day. This is probably the only trip we’ll make to St P and I really want to make the most of it, which means I don’t want to wander around lost and frustrated, or be stuck with a bunch of tourists from the boat.
Does anyone know of a good guide service?
