Hello, when I looked for a discount for the night-time Stena Ferry we are taking from London-Hook of Holland (to make our way over to Amsterdam), it says:

Prices / discounts for Eurail Pass holders
30% (only to be obtained locally)

So does this mean I can only book the ferry once I am in London? (since it says to be obtained locally). Or can I still reserve a spot on the ferry from home before I go, and then just get the refund/pay for the ticket when I am over there?

Thanks!

I am leaving from Canada with $5000 for 38 days
Amsterdam, Hanover, Berlin, Munich, Zürich, Lucerne, Rome, Florence, Paris, Bruges, Lille, London

It means you have to book it at the office in London. This is frequently the case with Eurail discounts. Given your dates (next spring?) I wouldn’t worry about finding a place. Where did you find the information? Stena’s website?, railpass travel agency website? ferry travel agency website?

Why are you taking the ferry for this, rather than Eurostar? I’ve been on Stena ferries; there’s nothing wrong with them, but Euostar is much faster and the special fares are almost as cheap. Overnight without a cabin would not, IMO be a good experience. A cabin will add significantly to the cost and there discount probably won’t apply to the cabin.
